More Than Just Paint

More Than Just Paint

Eleven years ago, I officially started Lyn Hiner Studios.

At the time, I couldn’t have imagined where this journey would lead. I simply knew I had been called to create and the hope that maybe, just maybe, my work would resonate with someone else.

Nine years ago, I took what felt like a leap of faith and began painting automobiles.

People often ask why I paint cars. The truth is, I don’t really paint cars—I paint what they represent.

Every automobile has a story. A first car. A championship. A father and son in the garage. A road trip that changed everything. A dream that took decades to achieve. Behind every machine is a human story, and those stories have become one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to meet collectors, enthusiasts, racers, designers, museum curators, and people from every corner of the automotive world. Many arrived as strangers. So many have become friends.

Some have trusted me to create deeply personal commissions that celebrate milestones and memories. Others have traveled across the country—or across the world—just to introduce themselves at an exhibition. We’ve shared meals, walked concours fields together, toured incredible collections, laughed over stories, sometimes there’ve been tears, but often we end up talking for hours about far more than cars.

Those moments are what stay with me.

The paintings may hang on your walls, but it’s the relationships that remain in my heart.

As I prepare for another Car Week and another collection of new work, I find myself reflecting on how grateful I am for every conversation, every opportunity, and every person who has encouraged me along the way.

Whether you’ve collected one of my originals, a limited edition, stopped by my booth to say hello, shared my work with a friend, or simply followed along from afar—you’ve helped shape this journey in ways you may never realize.

Thank you for believing in what I create.

I’m still as excited to step up to a blank canvas today as I was eleven years ago. The difference now is that I know every painting has the potential to introduce me to another incredible story—and another lifelong friend.

I can’t wait to see where the next canvas leads. And I look forward to seeing you in +/-14 days!!! WOOO HOOOO

Cheers,

—Lyn
