More Than Sunshine & Fireworks
July is a special month for me. Summer is in full swing, our nation observes its independence and I get to celebrate the anniversary of turning my passion for creating into an actual business!
Yes, I’ve been a creative as long as I can remember but my calling to paint professionally came in 2014, and after a year of exploring and developing, Lyn Hiner Studios officially became a business on July 15, 2015.
I tend to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays by not only looking forward, but also reminiscing about what has been. To say this adventure has been a wild ride would be the understatement of a decade! We have definitely had extraordinary highs and wicked lows, but as I sit here in our studio, reflecting on all of it, what comes to mind is: THANK YOU GOD for this amazing journey! I can honestly say that besides having a passion and willingness to follow His leading, this was all Him and I am ever so grateful for it.
So, as Lyn Hiner Studios rings in this ninth year of doing business, I have a couple brief but exciting announcements to share:
1. Join us for The Art of Car Week: VIP Preview & Social!
As our fall season gets ready to kick off, my friends, Christi Schimpke (CRASH Jewelry), Aimee Shackelford (Petrol Girl on IG and GearOne Agency) and the team at Avants are partnering with us for what we hope will be the first of many in-studio art events.
Come get an exclusive sneak peek of our latest works to be displayed at Monterey Car Week and enjoy pre-Pebble socializing with light bites, drinks, and some stunning cars! There will also be pieces available for purchase during the event!
We’ve already had to increase our RSVP allotment due to demand, so please be sure to RSVP today!!
2. Introducing Employee #1
We’ve hired our first official LHS employee…our new studio assistant, Elle Hiner!
Perhaps you’ve guessed what makes this even more special for us is that Elle is more than an employee, she’s also our daughter.
Elle is currently pursuing a degree in digital arts and had previously worked for Starbucks, where she learned good customer service skills, inventory management - and how to make a fabulous cuppa joe. All great qualities that have come in handy at the studio!
Fun fact: we had hoped one our kids would want to join the family business someday. So, you can imagine how awesome it was when Elle approached Rob saying she wanted to supplement her art education by working with us. We really needed help, so it was a great fit!
Elle started at the studio in April and has been rockin it! The break we’ve had from travel over these past few months have allowed her to train and get up to speed in the studio where she has been excelling beyond what Rob or I could ever have hoped or imagined! We cannot wait for you to meet her at one of our upcoming events!
There always seems to be more to talk about, but since we are still finalizing several of our end-of-year plans, I’ll wrap up my announcements now to save some news for us to share next time. Stay tuned!
Once again, thank you all so much for your support! Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate this road less traveled and constantly find ourselves in unfamiliar territory…this art biz really keeps us on our toes.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our next events over the coming months!!
Cheers,
—Lyn
